Our responsibility

A man stops a chain of building blocks

For us, compliance means that we abide by the applicable laws and regulations and also respect our own ethical standards and social values. Our business practices have always been characterised by a sense of responsibility as well as high moral and ethical principles. We are committed to sustainable development, which takes account of the needs of the individual, society and environment in equal measure.

Our compliance management process combines the necessary measures for this purpose, such as risk analysis, implementation and compliance with legal provisions and communication of company-defined values.

The Pilz Group itself is concerned with promoting transparent and open communication, a “speak-up culture”, both within the company and also with its customers, suppliers and other business partners.

General Product Safety Regulation (EU) 2023/988 - Pilz already fully compliant

The EU Regulation on General Product Safety (EU) 2023/988 replaces the previous EU Directive. It came into force on 13 December 2024 and applies to almost all consumer products on the EU single market. Its aim is to strengthen consumer protection through uniform safety standards.

The Regulation affects economic operators across the entire supply chain, such as manufacturers, importers and distributors, including online retailers, and pursues the following objectives:

  • Product safety throughout the entire lifecycle
  • Clear and ample product information for consumers
  • Traceability and rapid response to safety risks

The scope of this Regulation covers products that are placed or made available on the market, insofar as there are no specific provisions with the same objective under Union law that regulate the safety of the products concerned.

Where products are subject to further specific safety requirements imposed by Union law by other EU directives or EU regulations, the requirements from the EU regulation on general product safety shall only apply to those aspects and risks or categories of risks that are not covered by these other specific requirements.

Pilz and the products certified by Pilz for the EU have already been tested in accordance with specific regulations and meet these protection objectives in full.

All Pilz products have the necessary certifications, are supplied with a safety data sheet and have the corresponding markings. The certificates and technical documentation for each product can be found on our website.
